Teachers in Industry aims to foster curious minds by: initiating, developing and extending current networks connecting teachers to local Franklin and Papakura business/industry. The programme is part of a Nation of Curious Minds.

This programme is for:

  • School teachers
  • Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) intensive businesses.

What we do:

The Teachers in Industry Programme connects schools/kura with science or technology-intensive businesses in their community.

Teachers/kaiako spend time with participating businesses to gain industry experience, enabling them to develop business-relevant curriculum content for the classroom.

The aims of the programme are:

  • to support teachers/kaiako in ways to collaborate with, and leverage off, existing activities to enhance teacher/kaiako engagement with science and technology;
  • to facilitate links between schools and industry;
  • to foster curious minds by initiating, developing and extending current networks, connecting teachers/kaiako to local business/industry.

How do I get involved?

Register your Expression Of Interest (EOI) by clicking one button below. Registering an EOI does not commit you to any course of action. It simply creates a connection and allows us to find out, what industries teachers are interested in visiting and businesses that may be interested in supporting their local schools through this programme.

There are no costs associated with participating in this programme although schools will need to cover their travel or staffing costs.
